It is November 20, 2010 and Premier has just completed the first Die Cast Operator Course designed and taught by the North American Die Casting Association (NADCA).
Recently, I was fortunate enough to be able to attend the International Foundry Forum that was held in Barcelona, Spain this past September. The Forum is held every two years and is billed as the “summit of the foundry world.” The intent of the Forum is to inform attendees on essential market and business trends related to the foundry industry. The Forum organizers are The European Foundry Association and The European Foundry Equipment Suppliers Association.
NADCA was asked to send two representatives to the Metef-Foundeq Expo in Brescia, Italy on April 14-17, since the European community has a strong interest in what is happening in North America. Leonard Cordaro (president, Premier Die Casting Co.) and Eric Treiber (president, Chicago White Metal Casting) attended the conference, representing NADCA.
In April, I was invited to attend the Metef Exposition in Brescia, Italy, for a week and provide an interview on how the die casting industry is doing in North America. It was quite interesting to see how different the European aluminum industry operates a show versus expositions held in the U.S.
What a way to go! CastExpo‘10 was held in Orlando, FL, at the Orange County Convention Center from March 20 to March 23. The exposition is the largest single trade show in North America for metalcasters and was co-sponsored by NADCA and AFS for the third time as a collaborative effort.
